Learning How To Handle a Data Subject Requests
Dealing effectively with a DSAR can be challenging for some organisations, however it doesn’t have to be. Implementing a clear process will help dealing with a DSAR run smoothly.
What is a DSAR?
A DSAR, also known as SAR is a Data Subject Access Request, exactly as it says. Anyone has the right to ask an organisation if they’re using or storing their personal information. They can also ask you for copies of their personal information.
This is called the right of access and is also known as making a subject access request, a SAR or a DSAR.
Requests for DSARs can come from employees, customers and those on your database, the amount of information that an organisation holds on individuals is increasing in part due an unintended consequence of technology.
